Dawkins retiring – is PZ headed to Oxford?

Richard Dawkins, having reached the mandatory retirement age, is retiring from Oxford.  While Dawkins has a new book coming out and plans to remain active, the Charles Simonyi Professorship in the Public Understanding of Science is now available.  PZ seems like an obvious candidate, and several people have suggested as much in the comments at Pharyngula.  Turns out, Dawkins has suggested to PZ (among others) that he apply for the position.
