Michigan has its presidential primary today. Since the Democratic Party stripped Michigan of its delegates (for changing the date of its primary), only the Republicans have anything up for grabs. Several bloggers at Daily Kos have called on Michigan Democrats to vote in the Republican primary, and to support Mitt Romney. Michigan is a key state for Romney – the other front-runners (Huckabee and McCain) have each won a state. Romney has come in second twice. If Romney were to lost in Michigan, he probably would not be a viable candidate any more. With Giuliani looking like he’s in serious trouble, the Republican race would then devolve into a straight contest between McCain and Huckabee. The best thing for the Democrats is to have the Republicans go into their Convention without a clear winner. Hence “Democrats for Mitt”.
It’s been a week since the last primary. I am seriously missing them. What am I going to do after February 5th when the season will be effectively over?
